  Annuals, up to 12 cm. Leaves subacute to acute, rarely obtuse, spathulate-obovate, with ± strigose, dimorphic indumentum, mostly along the margins. Racemes simple, rarely branched. Sepals persistent. Petals (2-)3-3.5(-4) mm, the limb narrower than the expanded claw, with an indumentum of dense, long-rayed, strigose hairs. Fruits orbicular to ovate, glabrous, emarginate, 3-4(-6.5) x 3-4 mm; valves equally inflated, margins flattened, with sparse indumentum onthe upper margins when young. Styles 0.5-1, hairy at the base. Seeds narrowly winged. Fl. 3-7. Open places, 800-2300 m.
